On Wednesday, 12 October, the winners of "The Energy of the Pen" international media competition were awarded as part of the Russian Energy Week forum (REW-2022).

The competition was held in several categories:

- "The best article on energy in federal press";

- "The best article on energy in regional press";

- "The best article on energy from a news agency";

- "The best Telegram channel or energy blog";

- "The best energy news story for television";

- "The best media office in energy industry";

- "The best piece on energy from BRICS and SCO countries".

Two TV BRICS projects - the film "More Precious Than Gold" and the program "Let's Be Honest" - were among the winners in "The best piece on energy from BRICS and SCO countries" category.

First place in the category went to the documentary "More Precious than Gold" about the development of a gold mine in Khabarovsk Region, which was an example of ecological compromise - civilization and industry have adapted to the life of indigenous peoples and nature.

"Many thanks to the organizers for the fact that this competition exists. Recognition at an international level is very valuable: not only for us as journalists, but also for the characters in our film. Just last week it was screened at an international film festival in India, and earlier it was aired by TV BRICS media partners in the five countries. And it's great that, thanks to our international media network, we can tell people in other countries about how Russian industrialists are using renewable energy sources to minimize their impact on the environment. Follow the goals of sustainable development and safeguard the way of life and culture of indigenous peoples. For our part, we will continue this work of distributing content abroad," said Ksenia Komissarova, TV BRICS Editor-in-Chief.

The environmental education program 'Let's be clear', which looks at global environmental issues and how they can be addressed through examples of Russian projects, took third place.

TV BRICS correspondent Alyona Subbota, presenter of "Let's be honest", also thanked the organizers of the competition: "Many thanks to the organizers of the competition for the high appreciation of our project. I would like to point out that there are 13 episodes in total, all of which will be adapted into foreign languages and then shown on the resources of the TV BRICS media partners in the Five countries. Thus, we will be able to share with an international audience the Russian experience of solving environmental problems".

As a reminder, this year the organisers received 143 entries and submitted them to the independent experts who formed the shortlist. It included 6 entries in each category. The jury then selected the winners by selecting the best shortlisted entries based on fixed criteria: for example, telegram feeds were judged on timeliness and depth of analysis, press service stories on informative and public relevance, and TV stories on relevance and professionalism of presentation.
