New digital platform launched in Dalian

The digital comprehensive service platform of the Northeast Asia international shipping center, built by the Dalian Free Trade Zone (FTZ) and Dalian Deta Technology Co Ltd, was recently launched.

It is the first paperless service platform of its kind that catered to shipping market in China that integrates the functions of cloud transactions, cloud services and cloud financing. It will play an important role in further empowering the digital transformation and upgrading of the shipping industry, expanding the shipping service market, and building a shipping finance functional zone with FTZ characteristics.

The platform provides the following services. First, a comprehensive service platform of "industry + finance" to promote the development of shipping with finance. Second, second-hand ship trading and financial leasing to advance ship transactions. Third, a crew service system to improve the crew service market.

In addition, a "digital financial service" platform is provided on the basis of the "internet + ship service" model to open up digital sharing with ship service transactions, logistics and settlement.

The platform also releases information such as requirements of second-hand ship procurement and sales and is a reliable third-party platform for conduct of second-hand ship transactions in a professional and transparent way, which can improve the efficiency, reduce the costs and pave a way for Chinese ships to work with international ships.

Up to now, the platform has managed more than two million tons of shipping capacity, 1 billion yuan (about $138.44 million) of shipping assets, 500 million yuan of financial transactions, 200 million yuan of second-hand shipping transactions, 100 million yuan of shipping fuel transactions and more than 10,000 crew members.
