New HSR line in East China starts service
East China's Zhejiang and Anhui provinces have opened the remaining section of a new high-speed railway linking their provincial capitals to boost transport and integration of the Yangtze River Delta region. The Huzhou-Hangzhou section of the Hefei-Hangzhou High-speed Railway, partially built by China Railway No 4 Engineering Group Co Ltd, opened to public on Thursday. The 137.8-kilometer section, with six stations, involved an investment of 37.027 billion yuan ($5.27 billion). The other part, or the Hefei-Huzhou section, was put into operation on June 28, 2020.
PBOC adds liquidity via reverse repos
China's central bank on Wednesday conducted a total of 200 billion yuan ($28 billion) of reverse repos to maintain liquidity in the banking system. The amount included 133 billion yuan of seven-day reverse repos at an interest rate of 2 percent, and 67 billion yuan of 14-day reverse repos at an interest rate of 2.15 percent, according to the People's Bank of China.
