COPENHAGEN - Queen Margrethe II of Denmark tested positive for the coronavirus on Tuesday evening, the Royal House announced on its website Wednesday.

The Queen is now staying at Fredensborg Castle and her activities have been canceled for the week, said the official statement.

This is the second time that the 82-year-old Danish head of state has been infected with COVID-19, and it comes shortly after her return from the state funeral of her third cousin Queen Elizabeth II in London on Monday.

Queen Margrethe II first tested positive for COVID-19 in February this year.
