PC sales surge 10% in August
China's personal computer sales to individual consumers reached 2.69 million units in August, up 10 percent year-on-year, boosted by rising demand, according to a report released by global market research firm International Data Corp. Laptop sales were especially robust in the back-to-school shopping season, jumping 18.4 percent from a year ago. However, PC sales for commercial use went down 4.1 percent year-on-year to 4.97 million units.
Gansu's Jan-Aug trade rises 25%
Northwest China's Gansu province saw its foreign trade reach 42.08 billion yuan ($6 billion) in the first eight months of this year, up 25 percent year-on-year, according to local Customs. During this period, the province's trade with other economies participating in the Belt and Road Initiative reached 20.47 billion yuan, up 28 percent year-on-year, accounting for 48.6 percent of its total trade.
