Biography

Mao Ning, born in 1972, holds a master's degree in diplomacy. Before taking the post as the ministry's 33rd spokesperson, she had been a member of the foreign service for 27 years, with a long career focused on Asia.

She previously served as deputy director-general of the Foreign Ministry's Department of Asian Affairs, director of the Korean Peninsula Affairs Office of the Asian Department and deputy secretary-general of the Trilateral Cooperation Secretariat.
