Editor's note: The Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee invited five grassroots civil servants to share their work experience serving the people on Wednesday.

I've been working at the grassroots for 26 years and the residents' phone contacts make up over 90 percent of my phone contact list. I never give up when facing challenges or problems. In 2019, we introduced San'an Optoelectronics Co to the district to facilitate the development of the nation's chip industry, but with a daunting condition that we should provide an area of 1,200 mu-roughly 80 hectares-to the company within a month. My colleagues and I coordinated 12 teams to work 24 hours a day, removing four hilltops and diverting a river and finally succeeding in providing the space in 26 days.

I always put my focus on taking care of the heroic mothers of Yimeng Mountains, who voluntarily cared for soldiers and children (during the liberation struggles in the 1930s and 1940s). I often encourage women in the county to become self-independent with the spirit of these heroic mothers. These heroic mothers are of very old age and some of them are in poor health. My colleagues and I have visited them in recent years and wrote down their stories. I feel very happy to help their stories and spirits be passed down.

I've served with the police for 17 years and have spent nine years on drug control. I've taken part in over 150 cases to crack down on drug trafficking, and have caught 700-plus suspects and seized drugs of over 640 kilograms. The prefecture is getting better thanks to efforts by generations of drug-control policemen. I'm quite lucky compared with my colleagues who sacrificed their lives, and I will continue to combat drugs in accordance with their unfinished wills.

I started to patrol following my father when I was 13 years old, and now my daughter has joined my team. A total of 151 residents of 56 households in our township patrol to safeguard the border area. Previously, the roads were in poor condition and it usually took us a couple of weeks to patrol 45 kilometers. But now, the township's economy and road conditions are getting better thanks to the help from all levels of governments.

Kelsang Tenzin, deputy Party secretary of Lad Monba ethnic township, Tsona county, Tibet autonomous region

I've worked in the tax sector for 23 years and have spent 17 years serving the taxpayers. In March, when Jinan city was hit by sporadic COVID-19 outbreaks, my colleagues and I organized a team consisting of over 300 people to visit companies and let them know about tax reduction policies to help them get through the tough time.
