Birds in Ningxia have a friend in photographer

Other than taking photos, Yue has volunteered to protect the birds. In the winter of 2014, he took some pictures of a species that he later learned was a grey crane, a national second-class protected animal. Yue thought he had found a treasure.

To protect the birds from being captured by hunters, he volunteered to form a team and did jobs related to the protection of birds and their habitat, such as making regular patrols.

"Only good ecology and environment can attract and keep the birds," he said.
