Zoo in Wuhan welcomes baby giraffe

A baby giraffe, the first to be bred at Wuhan Wild Animal Kingdom, made its debut on Monday at the zoo in Wuhan, Hubei province.

The giraffe was 1.8 meters tall and weighed 50 kilograms at birth on July 15. It has grown fast and weighs 97 kg now.

According to Zhu Yanfei, president of the zoo, more baby animals, including meerkats, spotted hyenas, black cap monkey, and wolves will be born at the zoo this fall.
