This is the first Hood to Coast China after the success of the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics and Paralympics. I have been touched by the passion and energy of participants at this year's event.

Wang Junxia, China's former Olympic 5,000m champion

This year's relay in Zhangjiakou is different for me, as the city was the co-host of the Beijing 2022 Winter Games. I can still feel the Olympic atmosphere in the city. I also felt people's growing passion for sports and fitness. Events like the Hood to Coast relay will further enhance the national fitness campaign.

Wang Liping, former Olympic champion in 20km race walk

I'm excited to have such a new experience. This relay is great fun. I was the second runner for my team. I ran in the darkness of night until the first light of morning. What an experience!

Yang Jiayu, Team China race walker who won 20km gold at the 2017 world championships

The experience of the relay is really good. With the stunning scenery along the course, runners compete together and we make new friends here. We also discover our new selves during this tough endurance test.

Zhang Peimeng, 4x100m relay silver medalist at the 2015 world championships
