COUPONS ISSUED IN TIBET

The Tibet autonomous region began to release coupons on Monday to boost local tourism. Totaling 10 million yuan ($1.48 million), the coupons can be used for accommodation, tours of scenic sites and car rental. They will be released again at noon on Aug 10-11 and 19-20 via a WeChat mini program called Zangyitong. Local residents and tourists who are staying in Tibet for no less than two weeks and have a green health code are eligible for the coupons.

PROMOTIONS IN MACAO

The Macao Government Tourism Office announced on Wednesday that a series of promotional activities have been lined up to spur a recovery in local tourism. Activities scheduled throughout the second half of this year will integrate such elements as cultural creativity, sports, food and technology. They are aimed at improving tourist experiences and drawing travelers into local communities for tours and shopping, according to the office.

GROWING VISITS

Huangshan Mountain, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in East China's Anhui province, has seen a rising number of tourists, thanks to the effective containment of COVID-19 resurgences. The number of tourists to the scenic spot, famous for its majestic scenery, unique geology, cloud-shrouded peaks and ancient pines, topped 150,000 in July, according to the management of the scenic area. Local authorities have rolled out a slew of stimulus measures to revitalize the tourism market. These include granting free tickets to students who took this year's college entrance exam or high school entrance exam and offering a 50 percent discount on ticket prices between June 9 and Aug 31, a busy tourist season.

WEDDING FAIR IN SHANGHAI

Park Hyatt Shanghai will organize the 2022 Wedding Fair "Very Peri, Very Summer" on Aug 13-14, with a variety of activities such as wedding reception canape tasting, a wedding ceremony-themed show and an interactive floral workshop. Very Peri (Pantone 17-3938), the Pantone Color of the Year 2022, is a dynamic periwinkle blue hue with a violet red undertone. It blends the faithfulness and constancy of blue with the energy and excitement of red. The theme emphasizes the life attitude of being optimistic, resilient, hopeful and caring in 2022.

OPEN DAY IN HARBIN HOTEL

The Ritz-Carlton Harbin launched its first Wedding Open Day event in mid-July, in cooperation with a local wedding service provider. The luxury hotel in Harbin, capital of Northeast China's Heilongjiang province, opened at the end of 2021. It has four restaurants and bars, as well as 3,500 square meters of facilities for hosting events, including wedding ceremonies.
