Heilongjiang foreign trade up 30.7% in H1
Heilongjiang, China's northernmost province, saw its two-way foreign trade in goods grow 30.7 percent year-on-year to 122.21 billion yuan ($18.12 billion) in the first half, according to local Customs. In the first six months, Heilongjiang's imports rose 35.3 percent to 99.26 billion yuan, while its exports grew 14.1 percent to 22.95 billion yuan, Harbin Customs said. During the period, the province's trade with economies involved in the Belt and Road Initiative hit 96.38 billion yuan, up 37 percent, accounting for 78.9 percent of the province's total. Its trade with members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership rose 23 percent to 11.18 billion yuan.
Biz via RCEP saves 710m yuan in tariffs
The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership agreement has further boosted China's trade with other signatory countries, following 266,000 RCEP certificates of origin and declarations of origin issued by Customs authorities and branches of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade in the first half, valued at 97.9 billion yuan ($14.52 billion). Chinese companies are able to enjoy tariff reductions of 710 million yuan from importing countries, according to a statement released by the General Administration of Customs.
