Jan-June crude oil output up 4%
China's crude oil output saw steady expansion, rising 4 percent year-on-year in the first six months, official data showed. Output totaled 102.88 million metric tons, said the National Bureau of Statistics. During the same period, China imported 252.52 million tons of crude oil, down 3.1 percent year-on-year. In June alone, China's crude oil output rose 3.6 percent to 17.19 million tons, while crude oil imports fell 10.7 percent to 35.82 million tons, the NBS said.
PBOC adds liquidity via reverse repos
China's central bank on Monday conducted 12 billion yuan ($1.78 billion) of reverse repos to maintain liquidity in the banking system. The interest rate for the seven-day reverse repos was set at 2.1 percent, according to the People's Bank of China. The move aims to keep liquidity stable in the banking system, the central bank said.
