Miao people perform traditional dance in Guizhou

Shuigu (water drum) dance is a folk dance of the Miao ethnic group in Jianhe county of Qiandongnan Miao and Dong autonomous prefecture in Southwest China's Guizhou province. Local people perform the dance to worship their ancestors and pray for good harvest and peace. The combination of drumbeats and splashes creates a wild, inspiring atmosphere while showcasing the unique culture.

Shuigu performance was suspended because of the pandemic. As tourism is reviving locally, the Miao people have begun to perform again.
