Jumping rope becomes a family affair

Yu Dawei, 39, a jump-rope coach from Changchun, Jilin province, has been busy recently preparing for the coming 2022 Asian Jump Rope Union Virtual Championship. He is joined by his wife, Lin Xiaolin, and his 6-year-old daughter Yu Canyi.
The family members were selected for China's national jump-rope team to compete in an online event to be held in a few months.
Yu, who runs a jump-rope club in Changchun, has been involved in the sport since he graduated from the Jilin Institute of Physical Education in 2002 and won several world championships in different competitions.
He is also a national-level social sports instructor specializing in jump-rope and boxing.
