3 die in shooting at California party
Three men were killed and two others were injured early on Sunday morning in a shooting at a house party in Southern California, local media reported citing police. Officers responded to a report of gunshots at 00:45 local time in Leeds Street of Downey city, located in southeast Los Angeles County, reported KABC-TV. Officers found four men and a woman had been shot and three men were pronounced dead at the scene. The injured were transported to a hospital. The circumstances that prompted the shooting were unknown, but authorities described it as an "isolated incident", said the report.

President's approval rating put at 37% in poll
South Korean President Yoon Sukyeol's approval rating fell 7.4 percentage points over the week to 37.0 percent last week, showed a weekly poll on Monday. The negative assessment on Yoon's conduct of state affairs gained 6.8 percentage points to 57 percent, according to local pollster Realmeter. Support for the ruling conservative People Power Party dipped 2.6 percentage points over the week to 40.9 percent last week. The results were based on a survey of 2,525 voters conducted from last Monday to Friday. It had a margin of error of plus and minus 2.0 percentage points with a 95 percent confidence level.

Official gunned down amid campaign violence
A local official from Brazil's opposition Workers' Party, or PT, was shot dead over the weekend by a federal prison guard shouting support for President Jair Bolsonaro, according to a state civil police report and a witness. Marcelo Arruda, a municipal guard and PT official, was celebrating his birthday party in the southern Brazilian city of Foz de Iguacu, in the state of Parana, when Jorge Jose da Rocha Guaranho entered the event and shot him dead. According to a statement from Parana's public security office, Arruda and Guaranho "had a disagreement" at the birthday party, which resulted in both men being shot. Arruda died, while Guaranho was in intensive care, the statement said. The attack came amid intense political polarization in Brazil ahead of an October general election.
