IRAN
Nuclear talks with US set to resume in days
Iran and the European Union announced on Saturday the resumption of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States in the coming days to revive the Iranian nuclear pact. Making the remarks at a televised news conference with Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian in Teheran, visiting European Union foreign policy chief Josep Borrell said the talks will resume "quickly" and "immediately "in an effort to "solve the last outstanding issues".

Yoon to meet leaders of ally, Japan at summit
South Korean President Yoon Sukyeol will meet leaders of the United States and Japan on Wednesday during the NATO summit in Madrid, an official at the presidential office said on Sunday. The trilateral meeting, which would be the first such gathering since September 2017, is tentatively scheduled for the afternoon, the official said. Yoon and Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida are not likely to hold a separate meeting, the official said.

Monkeypox not global emergency, WHO says
The World Health Organization on Saturday said the spread of monkeypox to more than 50 countries does not constitute a public health emergency of international concern, the highest level of alert the WHO can issue. However, "a risk of further, sustained transmission into the wider population" should not be overlooked, said some members of the WHO Emergency Committee regarding the outbreak in a report.
