Longest-span HSR bridge progressing

The world's longest-span high-speed railway bridge to be covered with ballastless tracks, located in Maanshan of East China's Anhui province, made fresh progress when builders finished pouring the pile cap for one its two king towers. Builders from China Railway No 4 Engineering Group Co Ltd forged the cap on Saturday for the 844-meter-long bridge, part of the 76-kilometer Chaohu-Maanshan Intercity Railway. The HSR's construction started on Oct 28, 2019, and is scheduled to operate in 2026.Maanshan, a city sitting on both banks of the Yangtze, the country's longest river, borders the provincial capital of Hefei on the west. Chaohu is a county-level city under Hefei.

Installed power battery capacity up

China's installed capacity of power batteries saw steady growth in May amid the boom of the country's new energy vehicle market, industry data showed. Last month, the installed capacity of power batteries for NEVs rose by 90.3 percent year-on-year to 18.6 gigawatt-hours, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers. Specifically, about 10.2 GWh of the lithium-ion batteries were installed in NEVs, up 126.5 percent from a year earlier, accounting for 55.1 percent of the monthly total.

Game developers gain share in global revenue

Forty Chinese mobile game developers found their places in the top 100 global game publishers' revenue list in May, according to the mobile app data analysis firm Sensor Tower. These Chinese companies raked in $2.3 billion last month, accounting for 43 percent of the revenue generated by the 100 firms, the data showed. Tencent ranked first among all Chinese mobile game publishers by revenue, followed by NetEase and miHoYo.
