Emergency rescue drills and safety checks were carried out on cable crossings in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area in Zhangjiajie, Hunan province, on Tuesday.

The drills are part of an effort at the scenic area to prepare for the upcoming tourism season, which peaks between June and August.

The area, along with several other scenic areas in Zhangjiajie, will offer free tickets to students during the summer holiday, which usually runs through July and August, to boost tourism, which was hurt by the COVID-19 pandemic.
