Renewable energy set to further increase
China has vowed to generate 3.3 trillion kilowatt hours of electricity from renewable energy by 2025. The increase in renewable energy generation will exceed 50 percent by then, the National Development and Reform Commission said in a statement on Wednesday.
Special bridge project in Shenzhen advances
The Guiwan River Bridge, the country's first hanging-cable carriageway using high-vanadium and sealed steel-wire ropes, witnessed major progress in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, on Tuesday when builders installed its first steel box girder. Situated on the estuary where the Guiwan River flows into Qianhai Bay, the bridge is a major local public well-being project built by China Railway No 4 Engineering Group Co Ltd. It is scheduled to be finished by the end of 2023 to connect traffic on both sides of the bay.
