Survey: Foreign firms expanding in China
Foreign-funded companies in China have deemed the country's business environment promising, with the vast majority maintaining or expanding their business scale in the first quarter, according to a survey conducted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade. Compared with the fourth quarter of 2021,71 percent of surveyed foreign enterprises maintained their business scale in the first quarter, while 16.4 percent expanded, according to the survey.
Major ports report higher throughput
Major ports in China have reported higher throughput so far this month as the country's logistics networks are shaking off the impact of recent COVID-19 flare-ups. Combined container throughput at major ports amounted to 17.69 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEUs) from May 1 to 24, up 5.4 percent from the same period in April and also 3 percent higher year-on-year, data from the Ministry of Transport showed.
