Cold-chain logistics for farm products next
China will prioritize the development of cold-chain logistics and related infrastructure for agricultural products amid efforts to better secure market supply. The country aims to boost the capability and efficiency of cross-regional cold-chain circulation over the next two years, according to a circular jointly released by the Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Commerce on Friday. The ministries will support the upgrade of cold-chain infrastructure in distribution centers and sales areas and back the establishment of public cold storages and central kitchens.
Reverse repos net 10b yuan, maintain liquidity
The People's Bank of China, the central bank, on Friday conducted 10 billion yuan ($1.48 billion) of seven-day, 2.1 percent reverse repos to maintain reasonably stable liquidity in the banking system.
Water plant tested, to benefit 420,000 users
The expansion project of a water purification plant in Qinghe County in southern Hebei province has tested water, offering steady delivery of safer and cleaner water to some 420,000 local residents. The phase-II project of Qinghe Water Purification Plant, built by Third Engineering of China Railway No 4 Engineering Group Co Ltd, started on June 6, 2021 to meet a growing local need. With an estimated life cycle of 26 years, the expanded plant can offer 110,000 cubic meters of water per day. The builders are making every endeavor to safeguard its scheduled operation from June 6 onward.
Green, innovative parking lot opens
A multistory parking lot that can generate electricity while reducing carbon dioxide emissions has started operations in the city of Wuxi, East China's Jiangsu province. With investment from Japanese firm Murata Manufacturing Co Ltd, the parking lot covers a floor area of more than 20,000 square meters and is equipped with more than 1,500 solar panels. The electricity it can generate in one year is equivalent to the annual power consumption of 300 households.
