Massive bridge in Guizhou takes shape

The giant bridge on the route —Wujiang Bridge, which is located in Tongren, Guizhou — is the key project of the expressway. Its total length is 1,834 meters, with 504 meters spanning water.

Because of the mountainous location, huge span and small construction site, the bridge, made of concrete-filled steel tubing, is difficult to construct. It has been called a brilliant feat of engineering, with pioneering techniques. It will be the largest span arch bridge of its kind in the world.
