Wednesday marked the second anniversary of the death of George Floyd. Charles Blow, a columnist for The New York Times, said the expectations of change inspired by Floyd are fading, and substantive national racial reform is proving to be an illusion. According to Mapping Police Violence, last year was one of the deadliest on record for police violence, with the police killing an average of three Americans a day.
