Laoximen Street in Shanghai's Huangpu district recently set up the first "animal fangcang" in the city. The facility is able to house three big dogs, 40 smaller dogs and 10 cats. At present, the animal fangcang only offers services to pet owners living in the Laoximen area who are infected by COVID-19 or are close contacts of the infected. Volunteers from pet clinics are recruited to take care of the pets in the animal fangcang around the clock.
