Lawsuit challenging Twitter ban rejected
A San Francisco judge tossed out former president Donald Trump's lawsuit challenging his permanent ban from Twitter. United States District Judge James Donato said on Friday that Trump failed to show how Twitter violated his First Amendment right to free speech. Free speech rights do not apply to private companies, and Trump failed to show that Twitter was working as a state actor on behalf of Democrats, the judge wrote. Trump sued Twitter in July, claiming that it illegally censored him.

Record 12.3m Syrian children need aid
More Syrian children are in need than at any time since a devastating civil war erupted over a decade ago, but funding for them is "dwindling", the United Nations warned on Sunday. The UN children's agency said that 12.3 million children were in need of aid both inside the country and in the wider region where they had fled. "More than 6.5 million children in Syria are in need of assistance, the highest number recorded since the beginning of the crisis, more than 11 years ago," it said.

Two suspects arrested for killing 3 Israelis
Two Palestinians suspected of killing three Israelis in a knife attack have been arrested after a three-day manhunt, Israeli security forces said on Sunday. According to a joint statement, the two were captured in a forest near Elad, a Jewish city, where they killed three men and injured four others on Israel's Independence Day on Thursday. It came as Israeli-Palestinian tensions were already heightened by violence at a holy site in Jerusalem.
