Most firms on new third board report profits

A total of 6,061 companies listed on China's new third board, or the National Equities Exchange and Quotations, have released their annual performance figures for 2021, with over 70 percent reporting a profit. Net profits of the aforementioned companies totaled 60.62 billion yuan ($9.16 billion) in 2021, up 14.74 percent year-on-year.

Building materials sector sees expansion

China saw the added value of its building materials sector rise at a steady pace of 1.6 percent year-on-year during the first quarter, said the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. In March, the added value of the sector rose 2.1 percent year-on-year.
