At least 9 killed, 13 injured in twin blasts
At least nine civilians were killed and 13 others wounded in twin blasts on Thursday in Mazar-i-Sharif, capital of Afghanistan's northern Balkh Province, confirmed the provincial police spokesman. The first explosion hit a passenger bus at a bus stop, while the second one came 10 minutes later in a separate location. The nature of the blasts was not immediately known. Investigation into the incidents was still on. The Islamic State affiliate in Afghanistan on Friday claimed responsibility for the attack, The Associated Press reported.

Dozens hurt in clashes at Jerusalem mosque
Fresh clashes between Palestinians and Israeli police at Jerusalem's Al-Aqsa Mosque compound injured 42 people on Friday, said the Palestine Red Crescent Society, following weeks of violence at the flashpoint site. The unrest came on the final Friday in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan. None of the injuries were serious, and 22 people were taken to hospital. Police said three people had been arrested. Over the past two weeks, nearly 300 Palestinians have been injured in Al-Aqsa clashes.
