Dairy output to top 39m tons this year
China's dairy output is expected to reach 39.79 million tons this year amid a rapid surge in consumption demand, said a researcher affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs. The country's dairy output will near 54 million tons in 2031, said Yang Zhenni with the Institute of Food and Nutrition Development under the ministry. Consumption demand for dairy products has grown at an average rate of 3.6 percent over the past 10 years.
Waterway passenger volume shrinks in Q1
China's waterway passenger volume saw a year-on-year decline in the first quarter, according to official data. The country's waterway transport network handled 26.47 million passenger trips during the period, down 20.6 percent year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Transport.
