'Long COVID' prompts US response

A recent US federal watchdog report estimated that about 7.7 million to 23 million Americans are dealing with long-term symptoms after contracting COVID-19. Doctors estimated that 750,000 to 1.3 million or more Americans are too sick with so-called “long COVID” to return to work.
