Hualong One ready for commercial operations

Unit 6 of the China National Nuclear Corp's Fuqing nuclear power plant, the second unit of the Hualong One demonstration project, became ready for commercial operations on Friday, marking the completion of the Hualong One demonstration project, said CNNC. Hualong One is CNNC's third-generation pressurized water nuclear reactor with complete intellectual property rights and is one of the most widely accepted third-generation nuclear power reactors. The Hualong One reactor innovatively adopts a 177-core design and uses a combination of passive and active safety systems, meeting the highest international safety standards and capable of mass production.

Nation to further boost grain output

China has introduced a series of policies to boost grain production this year, according to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Finance. The country will issue more one-time subsidies for farmers to help them cope with increasing expenditure caused the rising prices of agricultural supplies, the ministries said. The ministries will continue to support the development of 6.67 million hectares of high-standard farmland, and provide subsidies for the purchase and application of agricultural machinery.
