On the occasion of International Women's Day on March 8, popular attractions in Guangyuan, Southwest China's Sichuan province were open to female tourists free of charge.

In Jianmen Pass, female visitors were able to draw pictures on exquisite fans under the guidance of a craftsman. Holding the moon-shaped fans in hand, they could feel the romance of the distant past while viewing enchanting scenery.

In Shuangqimei village, female tourists received holiday gifts prepared by cartoonists. They also had opportunities to try tie-dye art, a form of national intangible cultural heritage.

Scenic areas have tried to make their activities an expression of the combination of traditional culture elements and rich natural landscapes, rather than simple superposition of tourism products.

"The refreshing activities made me happy, for I can not only enjoy the beautiful spring days, but also learn about history," said a tourist from Mianyang.
