Lenovo targets gaming lovers with new phones


Chinese tech company Lenovo Group Ltd has unveiled its latest gaming smartphone Legion Y90 and Legion Y700 gaming tablet, as it scrambles to attract local gaming enthusiasts with tailor-made hardware.
The two new products are part of Lenovo's broader push to stand out amid intense competition and focus on the gaming market to differentiate itself.
Zhang Hua, vice president of Lenovo Group, said since the Legion brand was created seven years ago, it has been dedicated to serving gaming enthusiasts. The company wants to help cultivate a robust gaming community, fully learn players' demands for software and hardware and develop innovative technologies and products for them.
By the end of 2021, China had more than 666 million players of video games, according to a report released by the Game Publishing Committee of the China Audio-Video and Digital Publishing Association.
To better serve users, Legion Y90 is a high-end gaming smartphone equipped with the US chip company Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 5G chip.
