Boy trapped in well dies before rescue
A boy trapped in a well in northern Morocco for five days died before rescuers could reach him late on Saturday, two government officials said. Rayan Awram, 5, fell into the well at his village of Ighran in the hills near Chefchaouen on Tuesday, triggering a huge rescue effort that engrossed the country. Rescuers finally reached him late on Saturday. King Mohammed VI sent condolences to his parents, media reported.

Death toll from Alps avalanches rises to 9
Authorities in Austria warned on Saturday of the "considerable" risk of avalanches in the west of the country after nine people were killed within 24 hours, according to The Associated Press. Eight people died in three separate incidents in the states of Vorarlberg and Tyrol on Friday, police said. Officials warned skiers and snowshoers drawn to the Alps amid good weather that even slight tremors could trigger a snow slide.

Queen says she wants Camilla to be consort
As Queen Elizabeth II prepared on Sunday to become the first British monarch to reign for 70 years, she announced that she wants Camilla, the wife of her heir Prince Charles, to ultimately be known as Queen Consort. The 95-year-old said she hoped her daughter-in-law will be known as Queen Consort when Charles accedes to the throne, in a remarkable journey to public acceptance for Camilla after being vilified for her role in the breakup of Charles' marriage to Princess Diana.
