President Xi Jinping was awarded the Olympic Order in Gold in 2013 in recognition of his achievements in promoting the Olympic movement. Xi led preparations for the Beijing Summer Olympics in 2008 and promoted the successful bid for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
