China's post service sets targets for 2022


China's postal service sector set its goals for the year on Thursday, with an expected 122.5 billion parcels to be handled this year.
The State Postal Bureau of China held its annual conference in Beijing on Thursday outlining its priorities for 2022, including handling more parcels, improving the quality of postal and parcel delivery services and promoting the sector's green development.
The industry's revenue is expected to reach 1.4 trillion yuan ($220 billion) this year, a year-on-year increase of 11 percent. Among them, revenue for parcel delivery is expected to reach 1.16 trillion yuan, up about 12 percent year-on-year.
The country is expected to handle 122.5 billion parcels, a year-on-year increase of 13 percent.
The bureau will continue to improve the sector's efficiency and quality for development and better protect couriers and customers.
Another main goal is to extend parcel delivery network to more villages, aiming to cover all villages in China by the end of this year.
China handled 108.5 billion parcels last year, a year-on-year increase of 30 percent.
