Jiangsu 2025 sports market target $113b
The eastern Chinese province of Jiangsu aims to push the scale of its sports industry to over 720 billion yuan ($113 billion) by 2025, as part of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-25), according to a provincial plan. Development scale, quality and benefit, consumption level, public service and platform construction will receive priority. Jiangsu aims to improve the scale of sports consumption of urban and rural residents to more than 300 billion yuan, with per capita sports consumption reaching 3,500 yuan. The province also plans to start up three to five listed sports companies.
International transport expands in Jan-Nov
China's international transport sector saw marked expansion in the first 11 months this year. Cargo flights rose 26 percent year-on-year to 74,000, and road freight volume hit 42 million tons, according to the Ministry of Transport. China-Europe freight train trips have also seen robust growth momentum, with the total number up 20 percent year-on-year to reach around 14,000 by the end of November, the ministry said. It also said it had guaranteed the transport of key materials, smoothened the logistics and supply chains on international routes, and boosted road transport service this year.
