Daffodils bloom in early spring, usually near the Spring Festival, which falls on Feb 1, 2022. The Chinese daffodil is one species of the narcissus genus, which usually grows by the water.

In the West, the flower is also known as the Chinese Sacred Lily. Its Chinese name, shuixian, literally means "water goddess". The flower has been widely featured in Chinese artworks for centuries.
