Black Americans see higher unemployment rate despite market recovery: The Guardian

LONDON - Despite a market recovery in the United States, Black Americans saw a jobless rate in November at 6.7 percent, much higher than white Americans' 3.5 percent, The Guardian has reported.

This disparity has continued over the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, the British newspaper said Friday.

Besides, Black Americans have long faced discrimination in hiring processes, it added. One survey cited by the newspaper showed the unemployment rate of Black Americans with a high school or bachelor's degree was twice that of white Americans who hold the same degree in 2016.
