Jean Pisani-Ferry: Working together to promote the net-zero emissions

On December 20, 2021, the Global Strategic Dialogue 2021, an international webinar for the open global economy, was co-hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and China Daily in Beijing.
Jean Pisani-Ferry, Tommaso Padoa-Schioppa chair of the European University Institute and senior fellow and former director of Bruegel, emphasized that countries should work together to transform and upgrade their growth models to achieve carbon neutrality. At the same time, in terms of the risks and challenges in the process of green transformation, specific and effective solutions should be formulated.
He also said that carbon neutrality is a major transition with numerous challenges. In exploring the practices of net-zero emissions, we should actively respond to the potential risks and ensure the continuity of macro policies.
"Countries need to work together for the green change. At the macroeconomic level, countries need to understand the risks and costs of green transition and develop effective measures to achieve green growth," he said.
