Natalya Ivanova: Fight the pandemic and revive the global economy

On December 20, 2021, the Global Strategic Dialogue 2021, an international webinar for the open global economy, was co-hosted by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and China Daily in Beijing.
Natalya Ivanova, an academician at the Russian Academy of Sciences, said in her keynote speech that globalization remains the main trend of the world economy and innovative measures in monetary and fiscal policies should be taken to ease inflationary pressures.
The current global pandemic remains severe, and the world economy is still struggling to move forward in a stable manner. Ivanova emphasized that value chains and supply chains have been greatly affected by the pandemic. The reconstruction of value chains and the restoration of the international trade require compliance with the principle of multilateralism of the World Trade Organization.
"We need to guard against the technological monopoly. Digital technology will be applied to create new values in the future, and the competition should be fair and open," Ivanova said.
