Macao resident Chen Rongrong said meeting with the Olympians would let the children know that they could become better as long as they worked hard.

When they were asked about their impressions on the Macao SAR, the visiting Chinese mainland Olympians said the trip had left them a very good impression on the city and they looked forward to visiting there again.

Members of the delegation included China's sprinting icon Su Bingtian, table tennis Grand Slam winner Ma Long, veteran Olympic shot putter Gong Lijiao, and Sun Yiwen, who won China's first Olympic gold medal in women's individual epee fencing.

The three-day courtesy visit to the Macao Special Administrative Region by the star-studded delegation of Chinese mainland Olympians was expected to inspire local athletes and teenagers as well as spur patriotism in the city, with a series of events to demonstrate the medalists' Olympic spirit.
