The 24-meter-long skeleton of a fin whale that was found in Shanghai waters in March 2017 was installed in the Shanghai Natural History Museum on Thursday. The 3-ton skeleton is the longest of its kind in China.

The museum took 18 days to cut up the 40-ton carcass before spending three and a half years removing the flesh and fat, and another three months to assemble it outside the museum.
