Intelligent homes to help attract talent
Hefei, capital of East China's Anhui province, is upgrading its industrial facilities to attract more high-end talent. State-owned China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group Co Ltd has helped the city in completing the phase-V of a modern science park covering 129,785 square meters, in a bid to better accommodate high-end industrial workers and experts. The newly completed facilities include two high-rise apartments and seven intelligent industrial plants. The Intelligent Equipment Science Park, located in the city's economic development zone and operated by Hefei Haicheng Technology Industry Service Co Ltd, is the most advanced science park in Anhui. Phase four of the science park was also built by CTCE.
October lottery sales down 4% at 30b yuan
China's lottery ticket sales totaled 29.39 billion yuan ($4.6 billion) in October, down 4.3 percent year-on-year, data from the Ministry of Finance showed. Sales of lottery tickets to support China's welfare system totaled 12.58 billion yuan in October, while sales of lottery tickets to support the country's sports industry reached 16.8 billion yuan, according to the ministry. In the first 10 months, total lottery ticket sales amounted to 307.9 billion yuan, up 17.8 percent year-on-year. Under China's lottery management rules, funds raised from ticket sales are used for administrative expenses, public welfare projects and prize winnings.
