Key part of pipeline starts operations
Construction of the key Shanxi-Hebei section of the 623-kilometer Shenmu-Anping coal bed methane or CBM pipeline, China's longest such project, finished on Monday, taking it one step closer to launch of operations of the entire project, said China United Coalbed Methane Corp, its operator. The Shanxi-Hebei section, which began operations on Monday, spans 548.95 kilometers with a designed annual gas transmission capacity of 5 billion cubic meters. The pipeline will help ensure adequate gas supplies during the oncoming heating season, said China United Coalbed Methane Corp, a subsidiary of China National Offshore Oil Corp.
Reverse repos net 100b yuan, stabilize liquidity
The People's Bank of China, the central bank, injected 100 billion yuan ($15.7 billion) into the financial system via seven-day, 2.2 percent reverse repos on Monday, with a view to keep liquidity in the banking system reasonably stable.
