Award-winning film explores crafts, folk culture in Sichuan

The film Silver Moon Light, set in the Jianmen Pass mountain area, Southwest China's Sichuan province, won the Best Director Award and the Best Actor Award during this year's Hong Kong International Youth Film Festival held in Macao.

The movie is about an ordinary family that depends on making tofu for their livelihood in a mountain town, with an eye on the return of family love and the inheritance of traditional recipe and skills.

Accordingly, the movie also reflected that the combination of cultural tourism and inheritance of intangible cultural heritage.

Before shooting, the main creators took field trips to the Jianmen Pass mountain area, learning about the unique tofu delicacy banquet. They spent three years repeating revising dozens of drafts into the final script.

The event brought together about a hundred films both online and offline.
