Anhui water diversion project progresses
Anhui province made further progress in its massive water diversion project linking the Yangtze River, which traverses through its southern areas for some 400 kilometers, and the Huaihe River running through its north. The sewage interception project on Paihe River, being undertaken by China Tiesiju Civil Engineering Group, saw its No 3 and No 2 wells in the second work area successfully connected by using the company's latest technology of inserting large-diameter subterranean pipes into the soil. Construction of the water diversion project started on Dec 29, 2016, and is scheduled to be completed within six years. It is estimated to cost 91.27 billion yuan ($14.29 billion).
Legoland Shanghai Resort being built
Construction of the Legoland Shanghai Resort kicked off on Wednesday with the park expected to open in 2024, according to local authorities. Covering an area of 318,000 square meters, the resort is located in Jinshan district, Shanghai. The facility will include eight themed areas covering most of the signature and popular attractions and rides of Legoland parks around the world.
