German kitchen appliance company Miji International Holdings debuted during the fourth China International Import Expo an integrated stove, which it claims to be energy-efficient and an answer to China's carbon neutrality pledges.

A fourth time participant in the CIIE, Miji has taken into consideration the typical dietary preferences and unique cooking habits in Chinese kitchens, where stir-frying is commonplace. It has thus combined ventilation with the stove to extract kitchen smoke as much as possible.

"We incorporate the 'net zero' doctrine into our daily design and operations, and strive to provide energy-efficient solutions for China," said Maeck Can Yue, chairperson and CEO of Miji.

She said the design is the joint brainchild of both German and Chinese R&D personnel. The company has also completed import procedures for three new electronic stove models in September so that overseas products are ready for commercial launch.

"As Chinese long for low carbon footprints, so their kitchens should be (low-carbon)," Maeck said. "The CIIE is arguably the most eye-catching event in China. It's only natural that we introduce our latest concepts and pioneering technologies here."

The company is tapping into property developers and hopefully will ink deals during the CIIE to bring more tailor-made solutions for local customers.
