Sanofi Pasteur, the vaccine unit of French pharmaceutical company Sanofi, a fourth-time exhibitor at the ongoing China International Import Expo, showcased its vaccine innovation vision - the New Health Formula at the grand event held in Shanghai on Saturday.

Sanofi Pasteur's vision underlines the increasingly central role vaccines play in strengthening public health systems in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the necessity of a competitive innovation ecosystem to foster vaccine development.

"With a history in China going back 25 years, Sanofi Pasteur has always been committed to being a trustworthy partner in disease prevention and immunization, growing together with China's economy, and sharing its prosperity and development," said Mike Zhang, head of Sanofi Pasteur Greater China.

"At the CIIE, we hope to share our intelligent vaccination solutions supported by digital technologies, introduce innovative products that safeguard the entire life cycle, upgrade the innovation chain of the vaccine industry, and work together with a wide range of partners to build a better public health system."

Emphasizing Sanofi Pasteur's dedication to cooperating with multiple stakeholders to build an innovative ecosystem safeguarding public health, the executive said that the company's booth at the CIIE highlights the role of the International Vaccine Innovation Center in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, - China's first innovation center concentrating on the vaccine ecosystem.

The innovation center is a crucial step to further implementing the cooperation between China and France in vaccines. By uniting multiple stakeholders, including government, industry, and the public, the center provides an all-in-one comprehensive innovation space, integrating public education, academic exchange, industry dialogue, and innovation incubation.

Sanofi Pasteur has actively taken part in the economic growth of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area in recent years, establishing China's first and currently only foreign vaccine factories, promoting the first city immunization planning strategy model in China and building an academic exchange platform for international vaccines.

"With the acceleration of vaccine innovation worldwide, we hope to build a bridge between China and the world for vaccine innovation cooperation in the Greater Bay Area, while increasing investment in innovation," Zhang said.
