Remote-sensing satellites launched
China launched a group of remote-sensing satellites from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in Northwest China on Wednesday. The second group of the Yaogan-32 satellite family was launched by a Long March 2C rocket with an attached upper stage at 3:43 pm and entered its planned orbit. This was the 394th mission of the Long March rocket series.
Disposable income rises rapidly in Tibet
Rural and urban residents of the Tibet autonomous region witnessed rapid growth in disposable income in the first nine months of the year, according to local authorities. The per capita disposable income of urbanites rose 14.2 percent year-on-year to 35,517 yuan ($5,540) during the period, the regional statistics department said in a statement. Rural residents saw even faster income growth, with disposable income up 15.8 percent from a year ago to 10,470 yuan per capita, data showed.
List outlines industries police kin should avoid
The Chinese police authority recently released a document listing industries that entrepreneurial family members of police officers should avoid. The negative list, published by the Ministry of Public Security, outlines five industries in which police officers' spouses, children and their children's spouses are banned from participating. The restricted sectors are either closely linked to the duties of police officers or might interfere with the impartial enforcement of the law.
